"Bids were let on July 10, 1909, for the building of a new school. On October 11 of 1909, while construction was in progress, the fall term got underway in three local churches. By March of 1910 some classes could be held in newly-completed rooms. On September 5th the first full term began in the new building for grades one through ten. In 1911 another teacher was added to the staff, enabling the school to offer a full four-year curriculum.
"Non-resident students were assessed $1.25 from grades 1-3. $1.50 for grades 4-5, $1.75 for grades 6-8, and $2.00 for grades 9-12.” (From “Formoso: The Tracks of a Town”)
