According to the Jewell County Monitor “Miss Ida has been a popular saleslady employed by the merchants of this city for the past few years,” though she chiefly worked at Charlie Gribble’s Town Company Store the year she sold enough subscriptions to the Monitor, to win a “beautiful grand upright piano."
