The Williams Wagon

I’ve called this photo “The Williams Wagon” for so long that I might as well go on doing it, even though I suspect that the wagon itself is little more than a prop advertising Daniel Chessman Oakes’s guides to the gold fields.

The man with the white hat and suspenders is probably John Henry Williams from Michigan, lured to Denver along with his father and his brother (the two men in bucket hats) who were visiting from Cornwall.  The man wearing a vest and tie may be the wagon master from their train.
