John & Anna Lovewell Deposition, p. 1

In 1744 two of the oldest residents in Dunstable, John and Anna Lovewell, the parents of Capt. John Lovewell, gave their recollection of Indian attacks that had plagued the settlement over the decades.  Their mention of events “about fifty five years ago,” corresponds with the attack that killed Joseph and Anna Hassell, Anna Lovewell’s parents.
